It's about time

It's about time that Porter finally got fired.

It's about time the Suns start running & winning.

Tonight's win, although only against the Clippers, have been oh so wonderful to all the fans eager to see the Suns in their old form again. I have faith we can pull together a good run to finish off the season and make a good run in the playoffs. Perhaps it is not exactly fair to wrong Porter who has only been coach for 4 months... the blame really lies in Kerr and Sarver for all the changes and adjustments. But Porter clearly hasn't been a good fit for the team and better late than never to let him go now. Like Gentry said, let we be who we are. It is better to have the team be who we are at its best, than to imitate someone else and suck.

I believe we have what it takes.

BTW, Ben's Suns Blog defends Nash against Porter's system. Nash will always be our MVP.

The Desperate Plea of a Suns Fan

I don't even want to go into the humiliating lost we have against the Warriors tonight. But as a Phoenix Suns fan over these years, the last 2 months have been very, very, very depressing. It is one thing to be a bad team, but another thing to have all the talent in the world but playing like one of the worst. So please, please listen to my plea:

Dear Steve Nash,
You are always my MVP. Although this has not been your best season, but I still love you. Please do not give up on your team during games. Despite all the changes that have occurred, YOU are still the leader of the team. We need you, more than ever, to be the MVP that you are. You are our playmaker and leader. When you are frustrated and give up in a game, its infectious. The ball stops moving, everyone settles for jump shots, and we completely crumble and let everyone walk all over us. I know you can still do it, so please, this is the time for you to bring the team together.

Dear Amare,
You have been the biggest disappointment. You are so talented and you can do so much and you talk about how you want to become the "go-to" guy of the Suns. Well, you need to back up your own words, Amare. I am not the only one, many fans and critics have called you out on your empty words. Stop giving yourself excuses. As a player, it is your job to adapt to the changes of the game and the team. Change will always happen. Stop complaining about stupid calls, start attacking the basket consistently, run back to help out on defense, grab the rebounds that you should always be grabbing, don't give up on plays! You give up SO EASILY! You act like such a baby that needs to be spoon feed at all times by your teammates! If you push yourself and commit to play as hard as you should, good things will happen, you will help your team overcome tough games. But until you mature, you will never be great. So please, play up to your potential, man up and grind it out during the tough times.

Dear Shaq,
I will be very honest here. I was not a fan of the trade. In fact, I was very upset about the trade because I believed you were not the best fit for us. Additionally, I have always been against the Lakers all these years so I have never been a fan of yours. However, lately I have been very impressed. Your hard work and effort in a lot of games thoroughly impressed me and made me a believer that you still have quite a bit left in your tank. But I must also say, I expect a lot from you, Big Cactus. With your veteran experience and leadership, you cannot be the only one playing well. The ones that are truly great would make the ones around them great. I know you have already made history and future hall of fame, but we need you to help the team grow, we need you to adjust to the rest of the team as they try to adjust to you. So Shaq, prove all the critics wrong. You're not too old, right? Bring out our talents and bring home the Ws.

Dear Matt Barnes,
You've had me at hello. Even when you were a Warrior, I always said that you would be a great fit on the Suns. I love your energy, effort and passion, and well.... sometimes the occassional unnecessary hard fouls. You bring an attitude to us. But please also play smart, emotional players can only be great if they don't let the wrong emotions take over. So stay emotional, but not at the expense of the team, don't commit stupid and costly mistakes when they could be avoided. We need you at your best.

Dear Grant Hill & Amundson & Barbosa & Richardson,
Thank you for always trying, always competing, and always hustling for the lose ball. You guys may not always get the recognition for your effort. But do believe me, hard work does not go unnoticed to the true fans. Hearing the Road Runner sound played after every shot made by you, Barbosa, it always brings a smile to my face.

My dear Phoenix Suns, I have not given up on the team. This is definitely the worst we've played in a long time, and there are a lot of problems to the team. But believe in yourself. We have some of the best talents, and there is no reason and no excuse for how badly you guys have played. Come on, if your fans are not giving up on you, you are not allowed to give up on yourself. You owe it to us!!! Play with passion and determination, play together and work together, bring out the best in each other and we can still compete with any team in this league. It's not too late.

Love,
Julia
